About B. D. Griffin

B. D. Griffin was sworn in as the Montgomery County Attorney on March 19, 2019. He joined the County Attorney’s Office on January 1, 2013 as Chief of the Real Property Section and named First Assistant in 2015. B.D. is a lifelong resident of Montgomery County and was admitted to the Texas bar in 1984.  He is also admitted to practice before several United States District Courts in Texas and the U.S. Fifth Circuit Court of Appeals.

B.D. Griffin has been board certified in Commercial Real Estate Law and Residential Real Estate Law by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization since 1997.  He is a member of the Real Property, Probate and Trust Law Section, the Litigation Section and Government Law Section of the State Bar of Texas. He received his Juris Doctor degree from South Texas College of Law in 1983 (summa cum laude) and his undergraduate degree from Trinity University (1979, B.M. cum laude).  He served as President of the Montgomery County Bar Association in its 1994-95 term.

In addition to the administrative and supervisory duties of the First Assistant, B. D. regularly represents Montgomery County and departments thereof on real estate and real estate contract related matters, including:  roads; subdivisions, ordinances, land use, eminent domain, sale or other disposition of real estate, acquisition and leasing of real estate.  He also represents Montgomery County in state and federal litigation involving real property, land use regulation and flood plain enforcement.
