On November 6, 2012, J D Lambright was elected by the voters to serve as Montgomery County Attorney. He was officially sworn in on January 1, 2013. The County Attorney is the chief legal advisor for the County, and he oversees a staff of approximately 30 consisting of attorneys, legal support staff, and investigators.
J D holds a Master of Science and Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering from Texas Tech University, and a Doctor of Jurisprudence from South Texas College of Law.
Prior to being elected County Attorney, J D was in private law practice for 13 years. During that time, he handled a broad variety of civil, family, criminal, and probate cases.
Before opening his own law firm in 1999, J D enjoyed a 25 year career at Shell Oil Company in Houston as a geophysical / electrical engineer. During his employment at Shell, he managed numerous technical geophysical / electrical engineering projects, both operational and research, in various areas around the world, including onshore & offshore continental United States, Alaska, South America, Central America, and Southeast Asia. During his last two years at Shell, he was a Business Interface Manager for Shell E&P Technology Company.
J D is currently serving his third term as Director of the Montgomery County Bar Association, and he served for 11 years as a Director and General Counsel of the Montgomery County Dispute Resolution Center. He is a 2010 graduate and former Board member of Leadership Montgomery County, and he is a 2009 graduate of the Conroe Police Department Citizen Police Academy. Additionally, J D is a member of the Conroe Noon Lions Club where he also serves on the Board of Directors.
Lambright and his wife, Belinda, were high school sweethearts and have been married for 38 years. Belinda also had a long and rewarding career at Shell Oil Co.

Natalie Laurent is the Administrative Manager for J D Lambright and the Montgomery County Attorney’s Office. She has a Bachelor of Arts degree from Texas A&M University in Sociology with a minor in Criminal Justice. Mrs. Laurent’s duties include serving as the Chief Administrator for the office, managing human resource matters, processing payroll, departmental purchasing, making travel and meeting arrangements and preparing reports and financial data. She manages the county attorney’s schedule, assists with the preparation of the annual budget, and coordinates daily operations within the office. She acts as a liaison between the county attorney and Montgomery County public officials, employees and general public.
